Oli France
DEATH VALLEY TO DENALI EXPEDITION:
From 23rd March – 3rd June 2024, Oli France will attempt to become the first Brit to complete the 3,556-mile journey from Death Valley to Denali, the lowest point on the North American continent at 86 meters below sea level to the highest at 6,194 meters entirely by human-power.
The challenge will involve a solo bike ride through deserts, mountain ranges and frozen roads before Oli joins his 4-man mountaineering team for a 4-week, unsupported
climb to the summit of Denali via the Kahiltna Glacier and the West Butress Route.
Oli's journey will be the equivalent of cycling from London to Dubai. Starting in Death Valley, one of the hottest places on earth, Oli will cycle North through Nevada, Oregon and Washington, traversing the Sierra Nevada mountains and on into Western Canada cycling the full length of British Columbia, and through South West Yukon until he reaches Denali, a fearsome 6,194m peak in frozen Alaska. Oli will then climb the USA’s tallest peak through treacherous conditions. Denali is considered an extremely difficult climb due to the severe weather and steep vertical climbs. Along the way wildlife that Oli is likely to encounter will include bears, wolves, cayote and moose.
Oli's Death Valley to Denali project is a part of The Ultimate Seven Project: Oli France’s record breaking challenge to become the first person to travel from the lowest geographical point to the highest on all seven continents - entirely by human power. Traversing deserts, jungles, icecaps, mountain ranges and oceans on foot, bike, ski and kayak; this historic adventure will span the entire globe and see Oli cover 15,000 miles across 20 countries and achieve 4 World Records in an epic feat of endurance.

SPEAKING BIO:
Oli guides teams through the world’s wildest places.
He has shared his story across the UK and Europe at corporate and charity events, schools and award ceremonies. Whether speaking to small teams, groups of 500 people, or virtually, to remote audiences, Oli’s mission is quite simple:
To guide the audience on a journey, bringing empowering new perspectives on resilience, self-confidence, leadership and how we can fulfil our boldest life goals.
For over a decade, Oli’s adventures have taken him through deserts, jungles, mountains, and war-torn regions. He has faced spies, interrogators, minefields and arrest, along with avalanches, earthquakes, meningitis and severe dehydration, all while attempting to complete challenging journeys in remote corners of the world, alone or while leading a team.
What Oli has learned, however, is that in some of the darkest places and the bleakest situations, we can encounter untold beauty and unshakable strength, if we allow ourselves to find it. Oli illuminates how we can unlock true self-confidence, develop our resilience, and shift our perspectives on what we think is possible.
Oli has guided teams through countless high-risk situations across the globe, from the highest mountain in Iraq, to the militia-filled jungles of the Congo, to the backstreets of Aleppo, Syria. The pressures and perils of expedition life mean that quickly developing high-functioning teams is vital.
Oli shares his leadership lessons from these demanding environments, where calm decision-making, intensive planning, open communication and understanding the human factor within our teams is critical.
